What's with the ads? Posted 30 July - I never knew they used to accept expired Kohl's cash, so clearly I have been completely out of the loop all along. I didn't either until about a year ago when I overheard it at the return area. I had been throwing them out if I didn't use them since Kohl's opened here. I wondered what people meant when they said they saved their Kohl's cash for a specific purchase. I'm not a shopper! I never knew they took expired Kohl's cash.

However, can't you only use one at a time? You can use one coupon per item, so if you were buying 5 things, you could use 5 coupons, but you can't stack a bunch of coupons to buy only one item.

Carolyn beat me to it! Thanks for this info! Some craft stores around here only take one coupon per visit so I always wonder how other stores work. JoAnn craft store does like BBB--one coupon per item. This makes it very nice to shop and get several items at once, all at a discount.

I can go into my local Joanns and use four different coupons because in my area we have a Michaels, an AC Moore, and Company-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named.

I didn't know it, either, and there's a JoAnn store nearby, so I'm going to have to start paying more attention to their sales and coupons! And if you get on their mailing list you can get flyers with extra coupons too. I think the computer didn't accept expired kohls cash but some stores chose to take the amount off. I imagine word got around and it got out of control and was abused. I don't think it was ever meant to work that way.

Kohls has accepted expired kohls cash for years and never discouraged widespread discussion of it on popular sites like slickdeals. It was part of their strategy to get people in the door!

If it didn't scan it was handed back to you as expired but if you asked they did manually take the money off the bill.

My friend who works there says the guideline now is if it doesn't scan they can't accept it. I imagine online buzz was initially a good thing but it got out of control.
